Granite
a very popular choice for countertops in the home. Granite is a durable natural material that comes in a variety of distinctive colors perfect to personalize the home. Color choices range within golds, blacks, blues, greens, browns, and reds to name a few. One concern regarding granite is some types of granite may need to be sealed at the time of installation and regularly thereafter, however; due to a lower porosity than other natural stones, many granite choices do not need to be sealed.
Quartz
is a mixture of the natural mineral quartz and manmade polymers creating a durable countertop option. It is made in a variety of colors, but presents with the natural beauty of stone. Quartz slabs present in a variety of solid colors such as red and white, offering a monochromatic minimalist design for more contemporary designing tastes. Quartz does not need to be sealed as it is non-porous as well as heat and chemical resistant.
Quartzite
is a stone hybrid originating from sandstone mixed with mineral quartz. This mix lends to the luxurious look comparable to marble, but the durability of quartz. One large difference is quartzite does require regular sealing to protect its natural beauty.
Marble
is most easily recognizable with the popular white background and abundance of veins. It can carry towards both modern and classic design. Marble is available in other colors such as pinks, reds, and blacks. Marble is a higher maintenance option as it is a porous stone and can absorb spills. Marble will need to be sealed and with appropriate care it will maintain its beauty in the home.
Onyx
is a gorgeous stone, but we do not recommend it for countertop or other high traffic areas. Onyx is easily is scratched and quickly appears aged It is a gorgeous stone used for unique décor as light can transmit, creating a beautiful and dramatic effect.
Limestone
is like Onyx in that it is not a recommended for kitchen countertops as the stone is highly porous and is stained easily. Limestone requires being sealed and cannot be cleaned with acidic cleaners. It is most often used for bathroom countertops, but we suggest those that are not used frequently.
